Granola

Making your own granola is so easy and ensures you know exactly what goes into it - cutting out the oils and sugar that store bought varieties are all too often laden with. Its also lovely to have it warm on top of your fruit and yoghurt and well worth the 5 minutes effort it takes to make it.

Ingredients
4 tbsp porridge oats
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp flax seeds
1 tbsp chopped walnuts
1 tbsp chopped almonds
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp sesame oil

Method
Put a pan over a low heat then add the oats and toast lightly for 2-3 minutes. Add the seeds, nuts and cinnamon. Mix well. Pour over the sesame oil and continue to cook for a further 2-3 minutes until the oats are nicely toasted and the flax seeds are "popping".

Serve with natural yoghurt and fruit compote. Remaining granola can be stored in an airtight container for 4-5 days.

If you don't have the above listed nuts and seeds - try your own combination! Sunflower seeds, chia seeds, hazelnuts and pistchio nuts would work great.
